Touch Your Toes Tuesday

How flexible are you? Have you ever stopped to think about that? To be honest, I don’t think most people do because it isn’t really something we have to be concerned about in today’s day and age. We live sedentary lives that don’t require much movement if we aren’t so inclined. Can you touch your toes? I remember in high-school, when we’d have to stretch for gym, that it seemed painful to attempt to touch my toes. Now, though, I can almost put my hands flat on the floor! What happened? Well, I’m not exactly sure. I think the biggest factor in my improved flexibility is from yoga. Yes, yoga. And if you read my last post I was talking about meditation. I swear, my house doesn’t not smell like patchouli or frankincense. Have you ever tried yoga? It’s almost as if it tricks your body into becoming more flexible. Carpe Diem

You’ve come to a literal fork in the road. It’s the age-old question— but where do you go now? Right now, your fate is in your own hands. “If you had one shot, and one opportunity,” would you take it? (Thanks, Eminem ) I think my 13 year-old self just cringed a little. But really, on a more serious note, the fate of your life is in your hands at every moment of every day. With every choice that you make, you have the ability to be who you want to be in every moment. Sure, this is definitely relatable to that part of your day in which you could be working out, but it goes deeper than that, too. For just a moment, I want to touch on the idea of being mindful. The process of being present in your day-to-day life, being present so that you can make conscious decisions about which fork you’re going to take when life gives you more than one choice.
